HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Welcome back to our new Spring term. We hope you had a lovely Christmas and New Year and that santa was good to you! Our topic this half term will be WINTER and among other things we will be investigating what happens to our environment when it gets cold, looking at cold countries, learning how to keep ourselves warm and exploring ice, snow (hopefully!!), frost, wind and rain. Children will be reading lots of winter based stories and singing winter songs, if you have any at home that your children would like to share, feel free to bring them in.
Cold weather
Can you please ensure that children have plenty of warm outdoor clothes as we play outside every session. Can you please ensure that hats,scarves and gloves are clearly labelled with the childs name to make sure that they go home with the correct owner
SHOW AND TELL
This term we are bringing back Show and Tell as we feel that the children are settled and able to listen for an extended period of time. The details are as follows
Thurs 8th January, Friday 16th January, Monday 19th January, Tuesday 27th January, Wednesday 4th February and Thursday 12th February
STAY AND PLAY
We will be holding a stay and play session on WEDNESDAY 28th JANUARY in the morning session. This is a good opportunity for you to join in with your child and see what they get up to while they are here. We hope that you can stay and there will be further opportunities throughout the year on other days for those that do not come on a wednesday.
FUNDRAISING NEWS
Thank you for your continued support in fundraising for Buttercross Pre-School, it provides much needed funds for new resources for the children. Christmas fundraising was very successful this year and we raised £108 through the tombola and raffle and donations for tea and coffee and £76.00 through the All My Own Work Christmas cards. Monies raised will go towards some new scientific investigation equipment and magnetic construction materials.
TERM DATES
We will close for Spring half term on Friday 13th February 2015 and will re-open on Monday 23rd Febrary
Easter Holidays we will close on Thurs 2nd April and reopen on Monday 20th April
We will be closed on Monday the 4th of May as it is the Spring bank holiday.
