Welcome back after a lovely half term, we hope you are well rested and ready for the run up to Easter.
Topics/Themes
This half term the children are choosing stories each week for us to focus on, to coincide with World Book Day on March 3rd. We will be looking at different types of story, such as fairy tales, Adventure, Fantasy, Rhyming and favourite stories from home. On World Book Day parents and carers are invited to come in and share stories with the children and we will be encouraging families to take home books from our ‘take home’ selection to share as a family. This is situated inside our entrance foyer. The children will be doing their annual sponsored bunny hop nearer to Easter so look out for sponsor forms in your child’s tray.
Our WOW Board!
We hope you have seen our new board in Pre-School which shows some of the children’s fantastic learning and achievements. We would also like to hear from parents about children’s wonderful ‘wow’ moments that happen at home! Please use the stars to record it and add it to our board!!
Committee News
This year we will be having an Easter Fair to be held on 31st March from 3.15pm onwards. Among the attractions will be an Easter egg hunt, a decorated egg competition, an Easter bonnet parade for the PARENTS! And the Great Buttercross Bake off will be back! Look out for a letter in the children’s tray to let you know more and how you can support it.
Our Valentines cake sale raised a fantastic £70.10
I think you will all agree that the bags made by the children for Mother’s Day/Easter were amazing and they raised a brilliant £161.52
All proceeds will go towards enhancing our Maths and Literacy in the outdoor areas

Pre –School is closed on Easter Bank Holiday weekend Friday the 25th of March and Monday 28th of March and will close for the Easter break on Friday 1st of April and will reopen on Monday 18th April
We will be having a Stay and Play on 17th March in the morning session please join us to play with the children and feel free to bring younger siblings!

**Allergy advice**
Thanks again for your continued support regarding Nut allergies. To ensure that our children are safe at all times can you please ensure that you do not send in food containing nuts or products that say they may contain nuts.
PARENTS EVENING
We will be holding parents evening for your children the week commencing 21st March This will be to discuss your child’s progress and next steps and for those moving up to school in September, a chance to discuss ‘school readiness’ and transition plans.
The days that your child’s key person will be available will be displayed on the office door, please fill your child’s name in on the time you require. Any problems please speak to Tracey or your child’s key person
THE BRIGHT LINE – OUR NEW LOG TRAIN
Some of you may have seen the new addition to our garden, a fantastic log train! This was paid for through fundraising and a very generous donation from a charity fundraiser held at the White Lion pub in Bingham who raised money on behalf of Macmillan, The Air Ambulance and Buttercross, as a way of saying thankyou from the parents of Jack Bright in supporting him through treatment for ongoing health issues. We wanted to provide more role play in the garden and after consulting with Jack and the other children it was decided that a log train would be a great addition and that it would be called ‘The Bright Line’. We would like to offer again our thanks to all involved in fundraising for Buttercross
PARKING
Can you please ensure that you park carefully when dropping off and picking up, ensuring that you don’t park in the school grounds or on School lane. Please can you also avoid parking on the zig zag lines and across driveways. Thank you
Can you please ensure that all children’s clothes, lunchbags and bottles are named, especially Buttercross Uniform, as you will appreciate it can be very hard to pair the correct uniform with the correct child if they are not named.
We will have a table of lost property outside preschool over the next week.
