October Newsletter
Parking- polite reminder In order to ensure the children’s safety both at Buttercross and the Infant School, please ensure that you do not park on the zig zag road markings on the main road outside the pre-school or in School Lane during school pick up times. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
Nut allergies We would remind parents and carers that we have children attending pre-school with nut allergies. When providing your child with a packed lunch, please could you ensure that all food sent is nut free and that packets are checked that they do not contain nuts. We would also ask that food that is packaged with warning ‘may contain nuts’ is not sent. Thank you for your ongoing help in this matter.
Parent meetings We will be holding parent/carer meetings during the week commencing 20th October. Details of when your key person will be available and to book an appointment with them, please see the notices which will be displayed outside the pre-school office at the beginning of next week (13th October). Parents and carers will be allocated a ten minute appointment in order to discuss your child’s progress at pre-school. If you wish to discuss anything in private, please speak to the managers Tracey and Karen in order that an appointment can be made for another time.
Christmas Nativity and party Our Christmas Nativity and party will be held on Wednesday 17th December at the Methodist Church in Bingham. All children will be invited to take part in the Nativity in the Church with a surprise visit for the children from ‘you know who’, a disco and light refreshments available for children and parents. We would advise that the event will start at 9am and finish at 11.30am. Please note that pre-school will be closed for the morning session and will reopen for lunch club at 11.45. We hope that you will be able to attend with your child and enjoy what is always a lovely build up to the Christmas festivities. Further information regarding our Nativity and Christmas party will be forwarded to you nearer the event.
Fund raising The children will be busy over the next couple of weeks making Christmas cards that will be for sale after the half term holiday. All monies raised from this will be used to purchase new equipment for the benefit of the children. We hope you will be able to support us in this event.
We will also be holding a chocolate tombola at the Christmas party and would be grateful for donations please. We will be organising some special dressing up days next month when children can come to pre-school dressed up and bring in a chocolate donation. Dates will be posted on the notice board and website.
