Preschool in Bingham

February 2017 newsletter

Welcome back to everyone after a relaxing half term break. We are looking forward to some warmer weather and are starting to think about planting…..if parents or grandparents would like to offer their gardening skills and come in to help it would be greatly appreciated!. We are also going to be focusing on colours this term. We will have a different focus colour each week and children can, if they wish, come dressed in that colour or bring something in that colour. We will be looking at colours in our environment, using different coloured resources and finding out different ways of colour mixing. Please see dates for your diary for each colour week (also on the website)

Community Projects

Buttercross Pre-School continues to be supported by the Co-Op local community fund. You can help raise money for Buttercross by continuing to use your card when shopping or by choosing us as your local cause if you haven’t done so already, but hurry as there are only 6 weeks left! A big thank you to the co-op for their continued support of Buttercross Pre-school, choosing us as one of their local causes and continuing to provide us with free fruit and vegetables each week. The children thoroughly enjoy walking to the Co-Op and choosing what they would like and helping prepare it for snack.

Working in Partnership

We are always keen to work with other agencies to support the children and families of Buttercross. We have plans to work with Bingham Children’s Centre to hold some workshop style evenings that will focus on Children’s behaviour and children’s sleep difficulties, offering tips, advice and strategies to support these areas. We have yet to set a date for these but if you would like to register your interest, please see Tracey or Natalie and a date will be arranged.

We will also be offering a ‘Save a baby’s life’ workshop for all parents and carers to attend, where the basic lifesaving skills will be taught. The date for this will confirmed shortly. If there is enough interest this will be offered on two separate evenings so that everyone who wishes to can attend.

**Allergy/Grape advice**

Thanks again for your continued support regarding Nut allergies. To ensure that our children are safe at all times can you please ensure that you do not send in food containing nuts or products that say they may contain nuts. Care must be taken that chocolate spread is not the ‘Nutella’ brand, but one that does not contain nuts.

Can you please ensure that grapes (or similar eg olives) in children’s lunch boxes are sliced vertically so they do not pose a choking risk.

Thank you!

A big thank you to all those that donated and bought cakes in our Valentines cake sale – we made a whopping £67.50!
